The Nordic Media Festival is the largest annual media conference in the Nordic region, gathering more than 1500 delegates and speakers in 2010. The conference offers a unique arena where the media industry can come together, debating the key issues of today and be informed of the current trends and prophecies for the future. In addition, the festival is an important arena for networking within the broad media industry, both national and internationally.

Founded in 1988, the festival is a non-profit foundation. Over the years, the festival has established itself as being of the highest quality in regard to professional relevance, current topics and variation in subject matter. More than 1300 delegates got together to get inspiration and knowledge in May this year, and they review the Nordic Media Festival as being both entertaining, provocative, informative and - perhaps just as important - fun!

Feedback from delegates
Our speakers and delegates come from the wide media industry; from TV, Internet, media distribution companies (Telenor / Sonofon, Canal Digital, Canal+, Viasat), newspapers, radio, PR, media branch organisations, human rights organisations, politics and teaching institutions.

Journalists, editors, director generals, producers, technicians, students, communication advisors, scientists, media professors and trend analysts are all present. The Nordic Media Festival is the only conference in the Nordic region that manages to bring together such a wide variety of professions and media.
The main percentage comes from Norway, but the other Nordic countries are represented as well. All our delegates, as Norwegians in general, speak English fluently.

In addition to the conference and social events for the media industry, the Nordic Media Festival organize happenings in the city centre and a variety of projects for high-school students. NMF Young gives youth a unique opportunity to gain insight and access to the media industry. The festival culminates in the prestigious Gullruten Award Show, which is the Norwegian equivalent of the Emmy Awards.
The conference venue is in beautiful Bergen, Norway, at Grieghallen conference centre, the most prominent conference arena in the city. More on Bergen here.
