How the Guardian use visualisation to present complex data

Data-driven journalism is more important than ever, but data can be complex to understand and not always easily accessible for readers. This is a familiar challenge for Ashley Kirk. As the Visual Projects Editor at the world-renowned The Guardian, recently he has used visualisation to show how harsh winter conditions have affected the war in Ukraine, and presented investigations on how much ground Russian forces have lost on several fronts. 

Kirk will share insights from his work on these projects, as well as explain the role visual journalism plays in the strategy of The Guardian
