The Slow Horses Director on TV History’s Shabbiest Spy Success
This week marks the premiere of the fifth season of the award-winning and critically acclaimed TV series Slow Horses on Apple+. And what a joy it is that today I have the great privilege of hosting this season’s Emmy-winning director, Saul Metzstein!

Slow Horses has become a fan favorite, where we follow the washed-up spy Jackson Lamb and his team at MI5’s Slough House division in London — a series that has, and rightfully so, received a shower of Emmy and BAFTA nominations in recent years.
Saul also directed season three and has, in other words, helped shape this worn-out and sweaty universe in a show he himself calls “the spy world’s answer to The Office.” Saul is from Glasgow, Scotland, and trained as an architect before moving into film and television. And yes, he was at the Media Days as recently as May.
