How to win a Pulitzer Prize

Terror happens when you least expect it. Merciless actions are the medium. Fear and death are its goals. On August 12th, 2017, photographer Ryan M. Kelly was on assignment for the local newspaper The Daily Progress in the American small town of Charlottesville, Virginia. He was covering what was supposed to be a peaceful protest. At the same time there were reports that the Ku Klux Klan would protest. That was completely unexpected in Charlottesville. Out of nowhere, a car slammed into a throng of people. A young woman was killed and many more were injured. Kelly documented it all, and one of the photographs from the attack earned him the Pulitzer Prize. But what does it take? Who is it that really wins these prizes? How does it all go down?
