Andy Greenwald

Andy Greenwald is an author, screenwriter, host and critic. Alongside his best friend Chris Ryan, he hosts The Watch, a long-running weekly pop culture podcast on The Ringer Podcast Network where the two break down the latest in TV, movies and music.

In 2020, he was the creator, executive producer, and showrunner of drama series “Briarpatch”, starring Rosario Dawson. In recent years, Greenwald has collaborated with celebrated showrunners Noah Hawley (“Fargo”), Sam Esmail (“Mr. Robot”), and Damon Lindelof (“Lost”) on a variety of projects, including serving as a co-producer on the first season of FX's critically acclaimed drama, “Legion.”

Greenwald is also the author of two books: “Nothing Feels Good: Punk Rock, Teenagers, and Emo” (2003) and “Miss Misery: A Novel” (2006). His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Spin, Entertainment Weekly, and The Washington Post. Andy lives in Los Angeles.
