Hilde Restad

Hilde Eliassen Restad is an Associate Professor at Oslo New University College (ONH). 

Before assuming her position at the college, she was a Senior Research Fellow at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI). Restad graduated with her PhD in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia in 2010. She is the author of two books, one in English (American Exceptionalism: An Idea that Made a Nation and Remade the World, 2014) and one in Norwegian (Det amerikanske paradokset, 2022). 

Having spent a total of nine years in the United States, Restad is often used by Norwegian media as a commentator on American politics and society.
