From Jason Bourne to Andor: the many layers of Tony Gilroy’s universes

Tony Gilroy has had an extraordinary career writing film and television. His most recent accomplishment is as the creator of the acclaimed series “Andor” which was nominated to eight Emmy Awards including Best Drama Series, two WGA Awards and won the prestigious Peabody Award.
Gilroy was also one of the writers on “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” His four screenplay adaptations of Robert Ludlum’s Jason Bourne series (“The Bourne Identity,” “The Bourne Supremacy,” “The Bourne Ultimatum,” “The Bourne Legacy”) set the bar for 21st century action-thriller films.
His 2007 directorial debut, “Michael Clayton,” earned seven Academy Award-nominations including Best Picture, and Gilroy himself was nominated for “Best Original Screenplay” and “Best Director.”
Gilroy’s other screenwriting credits include memorable films like “The Cutting Edge,” “Duplicity,” “Dolores Claiborne,” “Proof of Life,” and “The Devil’s Advocate.” Tony Gilroy is the son of the legendary screenwriter and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Frank D. Gilroy.
