The outgoing Director-General of the BBC, Tim Davie, will attend Nordic Media Days in Bergen this May.
Davie announced in November that he would step down after several years as the top leader of the British public broadcaster. The decision came after the BBC was accused of bias in its coverage of President Donald Trump in connection with a documentary in the Panorama series. The editing of a clip from one of Trump’s speeches drew strong criticism. Davie himself took responsibility for the mistakes and announced that he would resign.
Davie’s final day as BBC chief is in April — and just a few weeks later, he will appear on stage at Nordic Media Days
On stage in Bergen, Davie will discuss what happened behind the scenes at the BBC, why he chose to step down, and how public service broadcasters can maintain audience trust in an increasingly polarized media landscape.
